A trip around the World

Each summer, the library hosts the summer reading program. My kids love it. I love it too, because that guarantees at least 30 minutes of quiet time each day. This year the theme is One World, Many Stories.
Today we signed up and got our first load of books. I am excited that Emmah is testing her reading and moving into real chapter books! She loves to read and improves with each book. Bosston, for some reason chose Star Wars chapter books, whatever. Lucy got one. Dasher got fact books on different things. It was a very peaceful trip to the library. Usually, it is filled with chaos that we are in and out, but this morning, (right at opening) the kids browsed, and chose with little noise!!!
Lucy browsing or should we say, "unshelving" the books.
 Bosston playing with magnet letters.
Dasher flipping through a comic book, trying to decide.
 Emmah all studious!
 Bosston "reading"
 Again, Dasher trying to decide.
all present and accounted for as we leave!
Their "goodie" bags: passports, stickers, bookmark, tatto, and rules for reading!!!!!
The reading program really is a good thing. They get rewards for reading every 15 min, and it keeps their minds occupied on something else besides tv, or hunger. I really enjoy this. To top it off, at the end, they get a free BLAZER ticket, and you all know how much our family loves the PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS!!!! I even checked out some new books, but I have two books in the works that are just coming off the first run of publishing. I will keep you updated on those as well.!!!!
