Choose to Become

I know this post is months late, but better late than never. A few months ago, I had the chance to attend Time Out For Women. For my readers unfamiliar with that term, it is a women's conference put on by Deseret Book. They have a panel of speakers who are asked to inspire, uplift, and touch. I was extremely touched when I was invited to attend with four of my dearest friends: Candy Weitzel, Toshia Stott, Kate Thomas, and Julie Bradfield. We decided to make it a weekend, and Kate was able to score an amazing hotel at a great price. The money was well spent! We laughed, chatted, all the way up there. Got stuck in a few traffic jams, ate at Red Robin, and then had the valet park our car! Thanks again Candy for driving. The hotel was nice. Awesome beds, spacious robes:) and even the sink was a sight to see! We quickly dropped off our luggage, and headed down the street!
These are just some of the pictures I took of the room. It was really nice!
Once we got to the auditorium, we had to try and find seats. It was pretty full and since it was a theater, the seating at some parts was limited, and we then realized we all couldn't sit together. Oh well, dinner was yummy, so being late wasn't that big of a deal. We found seats, took them, and listened to John Bytheway. Here are a few things I will share: "Instead of TO DO lists, make a TO BE list" "No good thought is ever lost; every clean thought becomes you." *Boyd K. Packer and my favorite thought from him, "Come up to Higher Ground."

Others spoke on Choosing to Become. We have the power and ability to become whatever we want. We are daughters of a King. To feel and hear that being said, was truly uplifting. My favorite speaker was on Saturday. S. Michael Wilcox spoke to me! He spoke on kindness to others. He taught about learning, teaching, and knowledge. How righteous knowledge leads to greater knowledge, and how we are all entitled to know everything there is to know. To never stop learning and growing. He spoke of the perfect circle. To plant one foot, use your other for searching (a compass) Reach out to help those around you, never compare, and ALWAYS learn from those around you. His concluding thought was this: "Let is suffice thee. Reach for th honey. Climb the stairway. Become all that you can be!"
Overall the weekend was a success. I can't wait to do it again. Thanks ladies, and big thanks to my Mr. Nick, you did a great job! I love you.
