This year instead of opening a present from Mom and Dad, we started a new tradition: Birthday Dates. Bosston and dad went to Chuck E. Cheese, Home Town Buffet, and Toys R. Us! The idea of this is to spend alone time with one of us. We get so wrapped up in the hustle and bustle, we forget who are children are becoming as individuals. The boys had a great time. Bosston picked out his present, Bey Blades, and came home and played some more. Nick enjoyed the time too! He is so busy with work, and always going the second mile (something not everyone at his work does) that he needed some down time. Even if that consisted of a loud arcade with a four year old!
The next day Emmah and I had our date. She has been talking about this day since it was decided back in January what we were doing for birthdays! My parents sent her money, and so we also gave her money so she could shop til she dropped. That is literally what we did. The drive to the mall was filled with the MAMA MIA soundtrack that we joyfully sang along too, and she had a mission once we arrived. First stop, Claires. All together this little lady had $63 dollars of birthday money to spend. Here's what she budgeted for. Glasses, and wallet (Claires) headband, (hanna andersson) pink gladiator sandals (crazy 8) white sandals, (payless) new dress and shirt (target) new notebook and pens (walmart) I am so proud. I did not need to add to the pot, she was able to purchase all of these with her very own money. Way to go shopper! We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory, and then headed home. It was an awesome day, and I will leave this post with a quote from Emmah, "this is the best day ever!"
