Okay, people say this out loud, "DURANT" Good, now when you see this six letter word, I want you think of it like this... DUR like a nerdy guy saying "yes" and ANT like the black annoying insect that follows picnic baskets.
Today, three times, someone said our last name like this, "DUR-UNT" it sounds so silly, and I hate correcting people. Growing up with the last name of WEEKS, I always had to spell it out, so people wouldn't spell it like this WEAKS. So, this is what a name conversation would be like, "yes, my name is Heidi, spelled, H E I D I, Weeks, spelled, W E E K S. Don't get me started on the spelling of my first name, that is a whole other blog entry. Now, that I am married, and my last name is DURANT, I still find myself spelling that out too... to many people out two Rs.
Okay, so let's try this again... outloud now, "DUR-ANT" "DUR-ANT" faster, and put it all together... "DURANT!" I am so proud of you. Now, next time we talk or see each other, we will get it right.
Now, I could only forward this to the employees at Target, Claires, and Sears!
Happy Reading.

Too funny! If it makes you feel any better, I always get asked to spell "Lowe!" Hello?!?!
Or you could explain over and over that your name rhymes with hunger not plunger?
(thanks for the smile today, reading this)
