Hey I can DO THAT!

So, a few days ago, I saw this super cute idea on a blog. Thanks to a friend, I have been finding more things on blogs that I can do myself, and I don't have to spend a lot of money. Anyway, this idea, was originally going to be a topiary, but I couldn't find a candlestick or pot at our Dollar Tree, and so I made a wreath instead. All together, it only cost me $9 bucks. I love when I can have an idea, and supplies, and it turn out, without breaking the bank. I love having a wreath on my door too, it just helps make our house a home. So, here is what I did....
Here are my supplies, fake lemons (4 cut in half), wreath, ribbon, silk daisies, hot glue, and some white fabric( you can't see the fabric, because I added after I took the picture)
Step 1: cut lemons in half, and find a cement pit inside. I just cut them like an avacado, twisted, and pulled apart. This was the hardest part!

Step 2: wrap wreath in white fabric. This just covers the wreath itself, or you could skip this step if you want to see the wreath.

Step 3: loop and glue ribbon of choice in place. This doesn't have to look perfect at first, but you want you loops big enough so you will be able to see your ribbon after completion.

Step 4: glue lemons on leaving about three inches between each half. I didn't realize this until I was finished gluing, but my bottoms are all next to each other and my tops are next to each other. You might want to alternate so there is somewhat of a pattern, and the bottom stem pieces don't stick out so much.

Step 5: glue daisies in between the lemons. You can fit two between each lemon, but I alternating two and one, just to give more dimension and not so much uniformness. (is that a word?)

Step 6: this step was a little time consuming and really messy. With your moss, break pieces of it up and glue around wreath to cover the rest of the white fabric. I tried to do the opposite of the ribbon looping. My table and Lucy were really messy after this step, as Lucy decided to play in the moss at it fell to the ground. You just gotta love one year olds!

Step 7: hang your finished project and takes lots of pictures of it. I am happy with the way this turned out. It cost me $9 and it took me about 30 minutes to make. I love it!!!

A picture of it a little farthe away, you can see I added the rest of the ribbon at the bottom to finish it off. Love it

So, with the completion of this wreath, I have decided to post my ideas and completed projects on our blog. I know, this is a family blog, but if not here, I just wouldn't post it, and I just can not start another blog. To many things going on, and I am really trying to simplify some parts of my life. These projects beautify our home, so they are then a part of our family. Don't worry, I am really not that crafty, so it won't happen all that much. Onto baby gifts though. These you can not see until the moms see them at the time of their babies coming into this world. Don't want to spoil any surprises!?!
