Yesterday, while I was watching Obama become our new president, I told my kids, "Look, that man right there is the new president of our United States." Dasher looks over at me, and says, "no, mom, he's not, he got shot." I laughed for a second, remind you he's six, and then I said, "No, that was Martin Luther King, a very good man, that did not deserve to die so young and that way is who you are talking about." Again, he's learning stuff in school, it's just funny what they choose to remember. He also told me what regurtitate means. I hope that is how you spell it. It's how the daddy penguins feed the baby penguins.
Anyway, Emmah had a random funny thought day too. The Feb Ensign came yesterday, and I was reading an article about Joseph B. Wirthlin. Again, after Obama became president. Anway, there was a picture of Pres. Monson, and Emmah goes, "look mom our old president." Again, I laughed, and explained that he was still our prophet, and then tried to explain the differences. She lost interest. Last night for dinner, I made poor man soup. The kids were asking what was in it, so I told them. Meat, potatoes, carrots, onions, tomatoes. Immediately they both spoke up and said, we don't like onions. I told them that I put onions in a lot of things... meatloaf, lasagna, spaghetti, on and on, and Emmah looks up from her bowl, and says, "there's lasagna in this soup." I don't know who laughed harder, me or Nick.
Not only can I be random at times, but I guess it runs onto my kids. Have a random Day.
