A Decade behind Us, Eternity Before Us!

February 10, 2001, I married my best friend. I know, I know, everyone says that. I hope they do. Marriage is a serious thing, I only hope everyone can feel as lucky as I have felt these past ten years.
When Nick and I met, I knew I would marry him. I think he thought the same thing, but he says he can't really remember. When he proposed,I said, "YES" and so the road starting turning. We told our parents, and let me remind all my readers, I was only nineteen. I was a baby to some, but I knew what I wanted. I always knew I would marry young, I guess nineteen was too young for some. Both sets of parents were really excited, of course, how could they not be. The Durants were getting the best daughter in law ever, and my parents were getting the best son in law on the face of this earth. We were in love!!!
Now, these ten years hasn't been all smooth sailing. I write this blog, as Nick is installing the new toilet. I have my priorities:) We lived in a small, ghetto of an apartment. We had second hand furniture, and actually slept on an air mattress the first month of wedded bliss, until we got a real bed! I worked nights, he worked days, so our honeymoon really was over when we got home. I quickly took a promotion, and was able to only work two nights of the week. A huge bonus.
I retired, when Dasher was born, and we moved in with my parents. I still don't know why we did this. We did save some money, but I think we would've been just fine living in our ghetto with a baby, but that was that. Then Emmah joined our family, my family moved, and still wanting to save for a house, we moved in with his family. Oyvay! We love our parents and we are so incredibly grateful to them for letting us do this, but it was time to have our own place. We bought our home in 2006 and life is just great.
Nick works extra hard. Harder than most at his work to provide for us. He is so willing to go the extra mile to make sure the work gets done, he worked 13.5 hours on our anniversary last night and came home so tired, we both fell asleep watching netflix. I love him more today than I ever thought possible. Our love is so deep it is hard to describe. Sure we have our ups and downs, but honestly, we have more ups than downs.
I pray for our love and happiness. I pray that everyone who is with someone can be as in love with them as I am with Nick. He is my better half and I am a much better person because of him!
To my love on our special day. Thank you, Thank you for loving me back!!! xoxo and happy reading.
