I bought this CD this spring, when I was on the Deseret Book website. I had never heard it before, but honestly, I knew I could not go wrong. I highly recommend this CD to all music lovers. AMAZING. Anyway, the first song is a new rendition of Joy to the World, and I love to sing it. Ask Nick, we listen to track one at least two or three times before we move onto the rest of the cd. I even have the kids trained to listen for my cue to sing. The first line goes like this, "Sing Joy, to the World, the Christ is come. Let earth receive her King." Anyway, I love it, love it. So, the other day, I was listening to the cd (shocking) and one of the tracks is completely a piano solo. Gorgeous. I want to do that so bad. I will play my fingers on whatever is in front of me, like I am playing the piano. I respect musically talented people, especially those who can play the piano. I LOVE THE PIANO so much it is not even funny. So, after the song was over, I said to Nick, " I AM BUYING A PIANO!!" I am not even going to think twice about it, I am buying one. We don't have the space, but, I think with a little creativity, and shuffeling, I know just the right spot. They have a baby grand piano keyboard at Costco, that sounds really close to a piano for $1350, so I said, if I haven't found one that I love, when tax time comes around, I will buy that one. Probably not, because if I am going to spend the money, I will get real piano, not an electric one, but I was just trying to show Nick how much I really wanted a piano.
I took lessons many moons ago from my grandma, but I lost interest. I am still kicking myself for that. My dear friend, Toshia, plays, and I admire her for that. I tell people if they can play, they hold a place in my heart. Maybe Toshia will teach me. I teach the music in primary on Sundays, and since having this calling, I am now on my third pianist. Either, they all hate me and ask to be released, or their talents are needed elsewhere. My friend, Maryjan Munger, is now playing for me, and I adore her. I have learned so much from her in these past few months and I thank her. I miss Toshia, but we still get to see each other from time to time:) The YW thought they needed her, whatever!!
So, once I get my piano, I will start to play and play and play. I will have my kids learn to play if they so choose. I have looked on craigslist, and some people were even giving some away for free, so if I can snag a decent on for FREE that would be even better. I will just have to convince Nick and some other strong and burly men to help him move it. It will be lovely. It will be divine. I just hope I don't get my hopes up!:)
Happy Reading, and hopefully, happy piano playing soon!
ps, buy this cd. it is great.

I have wanted that cd for a while now. i'm going to have to go and get it. As for the Piano I love that I can play and I wish that my kids had an intrest in it besides something to pound on. I would look around try the college. I know the one here had a sale every Spring when they get new ones.
