It has been a couple of days since I have updated the blog. Again, no excuses. Well, this last weekend, we went to a family reunion up in Washington. It was a lot of fun, and the weather was great. It wasn't cold, and best of all, it did not rain. That was the weekend.
As for an update on my "nursing" issue. A couple of weeks ago, I was in total pain with my cracking and bleeding. Well, after much thought, fight, and determination, I have called it quits. I was just not healing. They weren't getting worse, but they also weren't getting better. I tried everything I could think of.... cremes, lotions, butters, pumping, medicated pads, but still nothing. So, with screaming baby in hand, the bottle went to the mouth, and she drank and drank until it was empty. Low and behold she was happy, she was content, she was full. I tried the whole nursing and bottle combo for about a week. I just love her so much, I wanted to give it a longer run, but I could nurse her on both sides, and she still would empty an entire four ounces of formula. So, the crazy thing is I decided to be done with nursing while camping. Oh well, it is almost over. She is only two months old, but I gave it my all!! She is so much happier now and that so makes up for it.

Hmmm...what a bad mother! JK, you know who would be so disappointed ***wink wink***
Hey, look on the bright side, at least you gave it your all and tried! Even though it didn't work out, at least now both you and Lucy are happy, and she's getting the nutrition she needs - an added bonus! I commend you for trying this long! :) I hope you're feeling better!
Ok, I am a nursing mother, BUT, It can be sooooo over rated! If it isn't working, it isn't worth it! I've never gone a full year because 1. Food allergy for Clare and 2. Not producing enough milk/ baby not growing. Guess what, MY KIDS ARE PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND INTELLIGENT!
good for you!!
I'm just glad you're both feeling better.
