It is crazy to think that six years has gone by already. I can not believe that I am old enough to have a six year old. Next is baptism, then passing the sacrament, then sending him off on a mission. Where has the time gone. He is such an amazing kid.
Today, I asked him, "Well, Dash, you are six now, do you feel any different?" He responded, "Yeah!?" How funny. I chuckled.
I look back on the six years, and wow, have things changed. I remember holding that sweet tiny baby, giving baths, and of course you remember the scary moments too. Dashers' first Thanksgiving was spent in the hospital with RSV and bronchitis. The saddest time was when he had cried so much, he lost his tiny little voice, and to see the IV in his head, was so not fun.
But here we are six years later. Only one set of stitches so far, no broken bones, and has lost one tooth. What a grown up. He is a great big brother, and a wonderful son. We love him so much.
His birthday is today, but with conference and such, it was easier to have everyone out last night for a "Build your favorite Pizza" party. This is a lot of fun. We had some yummy toppings and not a crumb of pizza leftover. Then we opened presents, and had cake. Some of us had pie. We visited and then kicked everyone out. It was a great night. Thanks to everyone who came. Here's to our son, and another great year ahead. We love you.
