Whatever, is YOUR blog updated? So on the first day of spring break, the kids and I.... took Bosston to get his cast on and played at grandmas. On the second day of spring break, we trudged in the rain, over hills, through mud and puddles while we hiked our nature trail. The kids had a great time. Heck, I had a great time too! I am just glad that even though we were wet and muddy, we did not shed any tears!! Go US!
It started on Feb.10, 2001 and just finished on March 21, 2012. Can you guess what it was? If you guessed, WHO WOULD BE THE FIRST TO BREAK A BONE? you are correct. Do you know who the winner was?
Our very entergetic four year old. Piano lessons, bunk bed, falling, four hours at urgent care, and now three weeks in a cast. Don't worry. He likes it. He likes the attention. Hasn't slowed him down either, in fact, I think it might actually make him faster! We just had stake conference, and I feel it was the biggest challenge to get all four children to sit through TWO hours of televised conference. Seriously, after the closing prayer, I raised both arms and shouted, "WE DID IT!" I was really proud of us. We could've EASILY skipped church. But I knew we needed to be there. I can't tell you any of the talks or stories, but we set the example, and conquered through!
When we walked inside our home, the boys immediately shedded their ties, and and shoes. I walked into our room, and started crying. Don't ask. This winter has been long, cold and wet, and I am certain a little seasonal depression has struck again. Nick was concerned, and as he held me in his arms, I just said, "let's go away. Let's leave this place, and all that goes with it, and check out." His response, "let's do it!"
Sidetrack... I love this man. He has literally made it to where WE are his only care in the world. He works so dang hard all the time (mostly because not everyone at his job does) just so we can be comfortable, and be able to take these fun last minute trips. I see our marriage as successful. I am saddened when I realize that not all marriages are like this, but I do count myself lucky!! He rocks, and he is so damn handsome, I just don't know how I got so lucky!!!!
So, we immediately booked a trip. I wanted to go somewhere fun, familiar and semi close. Hello gas prices. Not cool, Mr. Man in Charge.... I don't get political here. At first, I thought about going to the Oregon Aquarium, but once I totaled the price for that activity alone (89 bucks) we decided Lincoln City, and day trips to other sites.
We stayed at The Inn at Wecoma and it was AH- Mazing. Newly remodeled, clean, friendly and affordable. We were able to upgrade to their family suite for only $15 more a night. The kids had their own room, mom and dad had theirs. It was great. We climbed all the steps of the ASTORIA column. Holy moly, my legs were burning later on! We drove the ever windy coastal highway and saw the Goonies Rocks (had to then buy the movie so the kids could see!) had lunch, and then checked into our hotel. I wanted to eat at Pig N Pancake, but they closed at 3pm. So we went for Mexican food instead. Dasher is SUCH a picky eater, but we challenged him to try something new, and guess what? HE LIKED IT! Shocking right?! We keep telling him that he really needs to broaden his horizons on food!
We hit the outlet malls, scored some new sneakers for me and Nick, new dressed for the girls, and pretty much had the entire mall to ourselves. It was rainy, and extremely cold, and windy. We explored the local goodwill and scored new boots for all four kiddos at $3 bucks a pop. I love a good find. We spent some money at the local arcade, (stinking DEAL or NO DEAL) and had a great time. I needed to reconnect with my children, with Nick. No work, no paparazzi, and yes, we even ignored phone calls. Whatever.
I felt, that we had become so caught up in work, school, homework, running here, running there, that we barely even saw each other. Some nights, Nick would work, OVERTIME, meetings, me at work with the kids, and he wouldn't even see his kids until the next day. We needed each other.
I am thankful for my awesome family. I am so happy we were able to take this trip and have a great time. I can't wait to do it again!!!
I love days off. But not when they are then followed by TWO snow days. I<strike> love </strike>like snow. I just don't like the mess it creates both outside and inside. Nonetheless, I took some pictures of our snowfall. Mostly for our family in Portland and Beaverton. They did not get snow. Just rain. Enjoy. They speak for themselves!
She planned 12 dates, one for each month, and gave that to her hubby as part of his Christmas. I copied. It was such a great idea, a chance to plan NEW and exciting things to do instead of just dinner and movie, my least favorite date. So, a few weeks before Dec. 25, we got together and made this really cute flip calendars. I love it because it has the month, and a slot for a picture. Okay, there's the background.

<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Here's our lame picture. I snapped this via my phone right as we were getting in the car. Then I forgot to take anymore pictures after that. I might have to restage us and the date before months end. Anywho, January's date: PEOPLE WATCHING BINGO. Some might be asking, what is that, and how do you play? Well, we all love to people watch right?! So, I decided to make up two bingo cards with random things one might see while out and about. Things like: Ducks Fan, Blazer Fan, crying child (which we could NOT find) kissing, texter, rolling suitcase, one size DOES NOT fit all, and silly things like that. Location: mall. We chose Lloyd Center, which is completely ghetto, but close to Nick's parents house, where we dropped the kiddos off. We had a great time. It was nice to walk around, sit, and just be together. Afterward, we headed to a new Mexican restaurant, Qdoba. AWESOME. and for anyone going there, split the meal. The burritos and HUGE! Total cost of date with coupons and gift card $9. I know big spenders, but I really wanted to find a way, to start dating my love on a budget. I think I have found it. Stay tuned each month as we date and maybe you too will share fun dates, or take one of our ideas. Next month is our anniversary month, and Nick's birthday, so might spend more than $9!
<span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;">Oh and for the record, I got BINGO first!!!!!!Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-37067861492970120292012-01-02T17:09:00.000-08:002012-01-02T17:09:15.677-08:002012

I don't do resolutions. Last year, I decided instead of saying I want to do something, I will just do it, and call it a bucket list. You know a list of things you want to do someday... well, this year, the list goes on. Just a few things, not too many, but just enough to keep me entertained and motivated. In case you're wondering about the dating one, this year, I have prepared 12 dates for Nick and me. Each month something new and different. No dinner and movie for us, instead I have outlined new things to try, and challenge us. In February, our anniversary month, we are running a 5K together. Just the two of us! So, do you resolve, or bucket?!Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-21031046750635209342012-01-02T17:05:00.000-08:002012-01-02T17:05:14.074-08:00for your viewing pleasure
Let's just say, I am glad one of my bucket list items was NOT blog everyday! My intentions are good, I promise, but then I fall behind and get discouraged. Nonetheless, I just downloaded more pictures from my phone, and in no particular order, I give you the MONTH OF DECEMBER!

Happy New Year
Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-73856312877519816572011-12-31T08:35:00.000-08:002011-12-31T08:35:00.991-08:00Out with the Old and in with the NewLast year, instead of "making" resolutions, I decided to make a BUCKET list instead. Just a few things that I wanted to accomplish in the new year. Here is what was on my list:
Spend more time with my family
Start writing more
Get fit
Wear clothes with confidence
Go away
Read more and laugh more
learn to play the piano

Here is what I did to accomplish my bucket list! Our summer was dedicated to the kids. We did a lot of fun things. Throughout the year, we would just pick up and go do something. I got to know my children. We started the birthday dates, and with that we were able to spend one on one time with each of them. They are growing up so fast. 2012 brings another baptism for us. Heck! We don't have babies anymore, we have children!
I wrote for Latter Day Woman Magazine. That was a great opportunity. It was fun to get my name out there, and even though, I decided to take some time off from that, I still have a guest spotlight, where I can go and blog about whatever. Maybe my first 2012 blog will be my new bucket list! It's coming, don't worry!
I now work at a gym and work out for free. I have tested the waters of fitness and LOVE it! I ran in the Warrior Dash and did a Turkey Trot 5k. I feel great. My heart is healthy (had an issue this past summer) I am healthy, and better yet, I am teaching my kids how to be healthy.
My new mantra for this year was JUST OWN IT! Seriously, people would say, only you could pull that off. I respond to that with, if I like it, I am going to wear it. If you are confident with who you are, anything looks good. Trust me, JUST OWN IT!!!!
Nick and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. We went to VEGAS. We had a blast. We reconnected as husband and wife and best friends and not just parents. I took a girls weekend in the spring (TOFW) with some of my best friends. Seattle treated us nicely. Then I went to girls camp, again with some of my best friends, loved it all! Looking forward to the trek! And finally in October, I flew out with my SIL, Alicia, to Denver to be with my all time favorite women! My mom and sisters. I got to see my dad too, so that was an added bonus. I love my family. I miss my family! My family is pretty awesome!
I read A LOT of books! I should hurry and count them... hold on! Sixteen regular copies of books (thanks to my blog for the magazine, those books were all free!) Then I read five books on my nook!!! Dasher read a lot of books too! He is my book worm.
I laugh and laugh all the time. I laugh at myself, I laugh with others, and I just overall love a good gut laugh!
Last but not least... the piano. Thanks to another great friend, I own a piano (for free) and with the help of my dear friend, Toshia, I can play some music that actually sounds like music and not noise!!
2011 has been a great year! Looking forward to 2012!!!Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-89436751445006500482011-12-24T20:38:00.000-08:002011-12-24T20:38:09.252-08:00Twas the Night Before Christmas....Twas the night before Christmas, and in our small home, 2560 Gable Rd, the children were snoring (literally snoring) while daddy was wrapping and mommy was blogging. We wrapped and packed the sleigh the other night, and I just have to say, Nick wrapped six, Heidi 17 in the same amount of time!!!
Christmas Eve was full of yummy treats to bake and share (although, 2 of the 3 homes were empty!) Nonetheless, fudge, muddy buddies, treats, oranges and texas caviar were dropped off at homes not so visited. Christmas lights were adored by many, and the same song played for the umpteenth time on the radio station. Really? Mariah Carey AGAIN?!
Daddy read from Luke Chapter 2, and carols were sang! (The First Noel, and Away in a Manger)
Papy Murphy's made dinner, and Polar Express in Blu-Ray entertained. Mommy might have closed her eyes, might have.
I can't believe another year has gone by. I will leave all the catching up for another blog, I just wanted to wish all of our readers a very Merry Christmas. I am grateful for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For his humble birth, and perfect life, he showed us the way, taught by example, and paid the ultimate price. To him, we should rejoice and sing, "Glory to God in the highest!"
He has had a smart phone before, but I still used prehistoric version of a phone. I refused to pay any extra for my cell phone, but they were offering this great deal, Nick was eligible for a free upgrade, so into the Verizon store we went. Hook, Line, and Sinker. We walked out with the DROID 2 and I was instantly hooked. How did I live so long without a smart phone. I love it. I am busy, on the go, and I love that I can just look things up, shop and blog all from one place. It is awesome!!!
But this morning, just a few minutes ago, I was trying to upload some pictures from my phone to our home computer. I removed the SD card, stuck it in the adapter card, and plugged it in to the computer. NOTHING happened. I tried again. Still NOTHING. Hmm I thought, what is going on? I have never had issues uploading before. I called Nick to help me. He laughed. He then handed me my phone charger and showed me how I was to upload pictures. I don't have to remove the SD card at all, I just plug the whole thing right in. How simple right? So, I guess smart phones really do make you feel a little dumb, until you figure out how to use it!!!!!
A friend of mine set up a course and at 8 am on Thanksgiving morning, I met up with some other "runners" and off we went. It was cold, but dry, thankfully, and 47 minutes later, I was done. My awesome friend, Toshia made me this:

16404 is the number of feet I ran! She is awesome and to plug her a little more, she ran every step of her first 10k yesterday in just over an hour! 1:03 to be exact. I am glad she talked me into running on turkey day. It made me more thankful for my body and the fact that I am trying really hard to get more healthy for myself and my family!!!!! I kicked trash!
The rest of the day was filled with family, turkey, pie, and puzzle building. Stinking puzzle! Oh and shopping!Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-23205347753941800672011-12-04T09:58:00.000-08:002011-12-04T09:58:06.780-08:00A few of my favorite things....

Emmah brought this home from school. It made me smile! I am so thankful that my children know the importance of going to church. It is a scary world out there, and if we all have a little faith, we will be okay. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a sure foundation. A steady and true way back to our Father in Heaven. I thank my children's primary teachers, their grandparents, our friends, and all the people we have come in contact with that influence us for the better!!!!!Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-19788079684507802512011-11-10T07:42:00.000-08:002011-11-10T07:42:59.892-08:00So what happened next?Today, the kiddos have the day off! I love holidays. Yesterday, I took them out of school early, on early release day, nonetheless, and we ventured to our dentist office. I LOVE our dentist office. I love it so much, that I totally justify the HOUR drive twice a year! I know, call me silly, but when we first started seeing Dr. Todd and Dr. Neil, we lived in Portland, so the trip was only 20 min. Now we live in St. Helens, and have been here since 2006, so the trip is 60 min. I don't care. I know, other dentists are around, and they are probably just as qualified, but I love these guys. I loved our very first pediatrician, Dr. Jen Kurmaski, but when we switched jobs, and healthcare providers, we could no longer have her. That was devastating for me. She was amazing, and probably still is. So, any of my Portland readers who have an HMO or Blue Cross, or anything else besides Kaiser, go to Legacy Children's and get Kurmaski. You will not be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, Kaiser is great. They are affordable, accomidating, and convienent, but Kurmaski was one of a kind. This is rambling on and on. Back to the Dentist
So, yesterday, was our 6 month check up, and NO CAVITIES. My kids rock! I rock too, since 90% of the time, I am the one brushing and flossing. I took the whole teeth cleaning thing for granted, until I became the mommy. This is part of their health and well being too, so we need to take care of our teeth. I want my children to have healthy smiles! So, if I still have to floss my 9 year olds teeth, than that is what I am going to do. He is getting better though!! Lucy even sat in the chair all by herself. Last time, she wanted nothing to do with it. Parents of small children.... TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THE DENTIST NOW. The sooner they get used to the whole experience, the better patients they will become. Need a good dentist? Dr. Todd and Dr. Neil at Adventure Dental in Vancouver, Washington. Message me, if you need the number. They are fantastic.

Okay, so what has happened since last post? I am 30. I have found that I am allergic to TIDE detergent and to NOT working out. On days that I skip the gym, I feel really weird, and begin to itch. I am addict. I need help and the only cure is more gym time!! The other day, I ran 2 miles nonstop. Ususally, I would do the run in intervals, but this day, I just hopped on and ran. I just felt like running! I am trying to work back up to 3 where I stopped training, and then keep going. My awesome friend, is running her first 10k in a few short weeks, and I am so proud of her. I want to do the run with her next year. Maybe the 1/2 marathon. We shall see.

I went to Denver in October. Dasher turned 9. School and soccer were in full swing. Our life was nonstop. But gladly, we have yet to get sick. I am so thankful for strong immune systems. I read about some children being sick all the time, and I get frustrated. My advice to their parents, take a few days off from cleaning. I have this silly theory: if your house is too clean, your kids will get sick. We need germs to keep us healthy. Our bodies need to know what to kill off, and if we are never exposed to it, well, then we are going to get sick. Just try that and report back. Knocking on wood here, but we haven't been sick sick in about three years. Just saying.

I had a lovely time in Denver. The pictures are on facebook. Check them out. Most people know about my trip, so I am not going to bore you with it here. We are through with soccer. hip hip hooray. Next year, though, Nick is coaching the HIGH SCHOOL JV team, on top of Dasher's team, and Emmah wants to play again, and guess what? Bosston gets to play too! Clone me now, is all I have to say.

Bucket list item. Piano lessons. LOVE THEM. Love my teacher, she's the one training for the 10k. We have become pretty close, and when we don't see each other at least 3 times a week we go through withdrawls. She is very talented, and I am thankful that she is willing to teach me. I play really fast, and I need to work on my timing, but Emmah and I progressing in the musical world. SCORE.

I am going to write a book. Someday. I have a few things down on topic and meat of the subject. A lot harder than I thought. So, what do you want to know? I really should blog more often. Hope this is good for now. Keep checking back. We are out of school today, I just might feel motivated to get on this thing!! Happy Reading.Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-11044121042170857432011-09-22T08:38:00.000-07:002011-09-22T08:38:32.882-07:00Oh yes, I am 30, and I am a WARRIOR

Some people were wondering why I was so excited to turn 30? I don't find it old, I find it exhilarating. I love it!! I am a whole new age bracket. AWESOME!!! For my 30th birthday, I signed up for, "the craziest day of my life." The warrior day. Feel free to seach the blog for my 29th birthday post. That day was a bummer. Two things came out of that evening. Night out with great friends, and finding out about the WARRIOR DASH!!!!! Oh we got muddy and beat up. My right thigh is still nasty bruised. I came home, iced my swollen left knee and crashed. BEST BIRTHDAY ever. The best part is, since I have the most amazing husband ever, my birthday never ends.
Next month I am flying out to Denver with Alicia. We are meeting up with mom and sisters also grandma for TIME OUT FOR WOMEN. Ladies, if you have never been, you should go. If you have been, you should go again! I love it, and I am especially excited to attend with my ladies! We will have so much fun. See, I told you 30 was awesome.......Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-88717318566547529742011-09-21T10:45:00.000-07:002011-09-21T10:45:07.914-07:00My lunch is packed...Back to school, back to school, to show my dad I'm not a fool. My lunch is packed, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight!!!!!

Well, of course, that is not what we were singing on the first day of school, but is a classic tune from a silly movie. Name that movie! School is back in session. We had a great summer and did a lot of the things on our list. The two things that the kids really wanted to do, but we just didn't were: zoo trip and dinner for breakfast. We can still do those things right?!
Dasher has started the 3rd grade and moved onto Lewis and Clark Elementary. His teacher is Mrs. Alexander and so far, so good. He really likes the fact that he rides the bus longer than Emmah and gets home after her. Soccer season has also started, and Dasher is on the same team with Sam Cole again. They have played four seasons together along with Jim Cole and Nick coaching. It's always fun to visit!!!
Emmah is in 2nd grade this year. Still at McBride, she has Mrs. Nelson for a teacher. She is new to me, but I have heard good things about her. Emmah is great student, so we don't worry about that. I mostly worry about Emmah getting bored. She is becoming quite the reader and finished Frog and Toad in two days. She was excited about that. She has already been invited to join the Garden Club, which is a special invite only club, that meets every Tuesday during lunch recess. She also started soccer. Dasher and Emmah will face off against each other on November 5. The last game of the season. Someone will go home a winner!!!!!
I am loving school. It is nice to run errands on bike with the two little ones. I pedal around town for leisure and exercise! I am starting to see more and more results and that makes me happy. I am happy and blessed to have such wonderful children. They are great examples to me!!!
See below posts.Nick worked extra hard and put in two flower beds while I was gone. It was awesome to come home to a yard with curb appeal. The day after I got home, we took the kids to the beach. It was on our list, and since it was supposed to be 100 degrees in town, we headed to much cooler weather. Funny how you escape the heat by going to the beach. It was a great day. We did some shopping and played in the sand. I have never had a nicer day on the Oregon Coast. We usually have clouds and wind, but not today. It was a perfect 65 and not a cloud in the sky. The kids had fun. Nick had fun. I had fun. I am so thankful for my wonderful family.......Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-58070531978354934322011-09-04T09:57:00.000-07:002011-09-04T09:57:26.289-07:00Girls CampHere is a pile of pictures from camp. We had a great time. My YCLS were awesome and made the week so much fun. We played frisbee golf, did elements at a ropes course, ate lots of yummy food, did fun crafts, and yes, the archery range was my favorite part. I have improved so much. The girls were certified, songs were sung, skits were performed and testimonies strengthened. I love girls camp. The girls, the leaders, and spending a week in Heavenly Father's creations!!! Awesome stuff. Enjoy the overload of pictures.
This "arms" skit never gets old.

A little clarifying for my readers who are not members of the church. Girls Camp is held every summer. All girls from the ages of 12-17 are invited to attend. They are broken down into levels where they certify in different things. First Aid, orienteering, cooking, hiking, swimming, canoeing, archery, clouds, fire building, and other things. A lot of fun. The YCLS is short for youth camp leaders. These girls are the oldest and they pretty much do all the certifying and stuff like that with the younger girls. It pays to be a leader. A year of planning for a week of fun. I loved girls camp when I went in my youth, and it is still fun when you are older.
Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-72609307781254722412011-09-04T09:20:00.000-07:002011-09-04T09:20:28.947-07:00It's a Jungle out there.... Be Chaste! This is a little poem/skit I wrote for one of the firesides!!! We talked about the things one would need for a jungle safari and related them to gospel principles. Enjoy!

"Twas the first night on a jungle safari and all through the trees- all the animals were snoring- even the 1st year MONKEYS.
The SAFARI GUIDES were scrambling checking the list; making sure all the supplies were ready to make camp full of bliss.
The CHECKLIST for your safari is simple, yet precise; matching temporal objects to those that reflect in CHRIST.
A COMPASS gives direction and guides you on your way. The SCRIPTURES give us guidance to make it through the day.
Don't forget your BOOTS- you'll need to protect your feet. The gospel is your sure FOUNDATION which no evil can ever beat.
Everyday put your CLOTHES on real quick- the jungle has yucky bugs that can make you sick. Remember to always wear your ARMOR of GOD to keep you safe from Satan the whole day long.
Thirst will come upon you- keep your CANTEEN full, drink the WATER so your body doesn't get sore. Christ promises us to LEARN of him and thirst no more.
You need to know where you're going- so pull out your MAP. You have a destination to find, so quick, go in a snap. The PLAN of SALVATION maps out your heavenly way- it lays out your beginning all the way to today.
It's time to take a break and eat a quick SNACK. Your body needs fuel so you can't slack. The WORD of WISDOM keeps your body clean. It tells you to eat your veggies, especially ones that are green.
Oh that sun is glorious- but my it is so bright. Put on your SUNGLASSES to shade your eyes from the light. Be mindful of what your WATCH and READ; Satan uses MEDIA to fill your brain with stuff you do not need.
CHAPSTICK is your friend. Chapped lips are no fun. Speak no evil and try to always GUARD your TONGUE.
Keep track of the time with your trusty CLOCK. You don't want to be left outside when the door clicks "lock." Be mindful and PREPARED, the hour is at hand. Christ will come again, and before us HE will stand.
Scrapes and cuts will happen. Bumps and bruises will appear. BAND-AIDS make the boo boo better, so you don't have to shed a tear. The ATONEMENT is your first-aid. It makes the aches and pains go away. Say, "sorry" for wrong doings and promise not to stray.
Now the checklist is complete, you have it packed up tight. So off to bed you go, to have a great FIRST NIGHT!"
School starts in less than seven days. So sad. So happy. So, Oh I don't know. Dasher is going to third grade, Emmah to second. If I close my eyes and concentrate, I can see Dasher getting on the bus for the very first time. I always love how parents say, "where has the time gone?" I will tell you. It just goes. Just like when we were kids, our parents probably said the same thing. I am not sad my kids are growing up. I am embracing it. I am welcoming the little adults they are becoming. The conversations we are having, the food they are trying (big issue in our home). I am in love with the fact that soon I will have a child old enough to watch siblings and I can run to the store unsupervised:) and be back before they even knew I was gone. I am in awe at the amazing things our children have done so far in the short amount of time they have been in our care. Did you know that Dasher can recite almost all 13 Articles of Faith? Emmah is turning into an awesome reader and wants more and more chapter books. Bosston is left handed and it is so fun to watch him problem solve, and our sweet Lucy is talking more and more and will soon be wearing big girl panties!!!! These are the things that make parents smile. I don't get up in the middle of the night with a young baby. I don't have to stay at home because the kids are napping. We can get in the car and go, no planning, no packing "baby gear" we can just go. That is so great. Don't get me wrong. I loved the baby stage. But that is also why I did that stage young in life. I had Dasher when I was 21. Just barely, not even a month. Then Lucy came into our family in April of 2009 and I was not even 28 yet!!! I have loved being a young mother. I have loved raising my kids and I am loving the fact that they are growing strong and healthy and turning into actual members of society. I just hope the society improves before they notice what has happened!!!!
I have loved this summer. This has been the summer for the books. Our kids were old enough to do things and explore, play and make memories. I am sad that it is ending, but I am really happy to have my house in order. Didn't you know, mom's take the summers off from housework!! Well, at least I did!!! I promise I have pictures to show. I know that is why most people "read" blogs. I just can't find the memory cards right now. Remember, Lucy, she likes to take things!!!! Oh well, she's cute and that makes me smile. My children make me smile, laugh and cry with happiness. Motherhood really is awesome, and simple, and fulfilling. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!!!!! I should really rename this post!! Happy Reading, and please check back in a day or two for some pictures... make that more like next week:)Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-33767825124835732482011-08-23T06:51:00.001-07:002011-08-23T06:51:42.343-07:00girls camp is overJust a quick note to keep you updated. Camp is over. It was great. Pics to come. Summer is still here for a few more weeks. We still have somethings to check off the list, pics to come. Stay tuned. We are playing, not blogging.Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-55295916783364712002011-08-01T14:10:00.000-07:002011-08-01T14:10:43.062-07:00Splish Splash at the ParkLast week, I took our four awesome children to a sprinkler park. We are "supposed" to get one of these here in town, but until then, we will venture to Longview. We left at 9:45 am so we could utilize the whole afternoon. The park is perfect. Big, but small at the same time. All of the kids, even myself cooled off in the freezing cold water. Enjoy!
What are people doing this summer? I take my kids everywhere, but no one else seems to be there. I am sad that many parents aren't taking their children places during summer break. I love doing things with my children. I do not like sitting at home and having them rot away in front of the television.

I have a similar picture of me like this many moons ago. Maybe Jessica could find it at her mom's house and email me a copy. We could play, who belongs to who!?

This day was fun. On the way home, the two little ones fell asleep:) and Emmah exclaimed, "you're the best mom ever!" Happy Summer. It's almost gone. It is already August. This makes me sad. I don't want summer to end. I want it to keep going. Enjoy the sun, get out of the house, and tell us how you have spent your summer!
Heidihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06670054437211119505noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299742550736808423.post-23521362060342063042011-07-31T08:22:00.000-07:002011-07-31T08:22:15.929-07:00winner winner chicken dinnerSo thank you to everyone who left a comment.
