You know it is never good news when your phone rings early Saturday morning, and dad leaves a voicemail. Who does that anymore? The message on the phone... Heidi, it's dad, you need to give us a call. Instantly, I knew what happened. I guess our family has just been waiting for this call for quite some time. I hit redial, and mom picks up. All I say is, "he's gone, isn't he?" mom then replies, "yes, he went this morning."
My mom lost her dad, and I lost my grandpa. Now, the feelings of remorse, guilt, and yes, even joy fill my mind and heart. Remorse, in a time or mourning, guilt, for not getting pictures of my kids updated on his board, and joy, for the sure knowledge that he has been reunited with my grandma, who passed five years ago, and their son who passed away when he was eight.
So, why is that when someone dies, you feel like this? I guess because it is natural to do so, but also is helps the heart heal. It helps to cry and I mean let it all out, let the crocodile tears flow, it helps to let others cry with you, and to have someone feel your pain, and it helps to laugh, love and remember the cowboy of a grandpa giving tractor rides, and calling all of his twenty six grandkids "love bugs!!" A true man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is loved and will be missed!!!!!!

"A camping"
Bosston is so excited to go camping. We leave Monday morning, for southern Oregon for a week. I am excited as well, because we are going to Crater Lake, and I have never been there. Every day for the past week, Bosston has woken up and said, "A camping" and every time I have to tell him, not yet, but soon. Hopefully, when Monday comes, he will still be excited.
The last time we went, last month, he was so sad when it was time to come home. I am thankful that my children love to be outside in nature, and camp. Some people are not big campers, but just to be out in the world, so peaceful and quiet, helps you remember how powerful our Father in Heaven is. He gave us this place, and so we are going to bask in the goodness of God's creations.

Dr. Appointments
Last Friday, I took Emmah, Bosston and Lucy to see the pediatrician. Most people would say I was crazy for taking all three at one time, but it is actually much easier. We live 45 min from the clinic, and I say, let's just get it done and over with. Well, here are the stats for three of the four amazing kids we have.
Emmah: looks fabulous. She is 43 inches tall and weighs 42 pounds. She is just so skinny. Her vision and hearing are great and she is ready to go to school. She had to get four shots, two in each arm. A few tears later and she was just fine.
Bosston: Again, he looks great too. He is 36.5 inches tall and weighs 26 pounds. He puts words together to make sentences, knows his "Head, shoulder, knees and toes" and colors. I was impressed how many colors he really does know. He got three shots, and it was funny, because I would say three shots, and he would say, but I 2 mom, I 2.
Lucy: Growing like a weed. She weighs 12 pounds 4 ounces, and she is 22 inches long. She has gained 5 pounds since birth. I love the fact that her feet are even chubby. She has great head control for a baby her age, and she has really strong leg muscles. The ped. was impressed with how well she already stands. She had to get three shots, and one oral dose of medicine.
Overall, the day went well. Tylenol was Lucy's best friend. Above are just some random pics for all to enjoy. It has been awhile since I have posted any pics.

In the need of an update
Okay, Okay, yes, I know it has been a really long time since I have updated this silly thing. I read all of your blogs, and sometimes make comments, but I just can't seem to find enough time in the day to update ours. Well, here goes. I will just tell you, and then download some pics.
The second weekend in June, (the weekend I decided to stop nursing) we were camping at Humptulips, WA. It is the same reunion year after year, but we go and have a good time. For you Twilight fans, it is about an hour from FORKS, and I guess that town is pretty neat stuff after the books and movie were such a hit. Here's a little plug for that movie. A lot of the movie was filmed right here in St. Helens, and we went and found all the spots, esp Bella's house. It is not too far from our house. Of course, you can't go inside, bc it is someones house, but if you want to drive by, just let us know, and we can be your personal tour guide.
The weekend after we went camping, Nick, Lucy and I boarded an airplane and flew back east to Missouri. My 10 year high school reunion. When I was telling people what we were doing, they thought it was silly, but if you knew me in hs and you knew my class, you would totally understand. Even Nick had slight hesitations on going, but he ended up having a great time. It was fun going back and seeing how much the town had grown. We got to take a tour of the new hs, so jealous, and just had a such an awesome time. My group of friends are all happy and successful, and it was like ten years had never passed. We laughed and joked, told stories, and gave advice. I loved to watch their faces and we would remember things, and how much fun we had "back in the day!" I am looking forward to our 15 year in VEGAS!!
We have had something going every weekend since summer started. If it is not camping, or flying or going to yet another wedding, our lives are super busy. Thankfully, we only have one wedding, (two if I am lucky) to go to in August. AAAHHH just breathe.
My mom and sister were out two weekends ago for a cousins wedding. I love when my mom comes. She rocks!! Lucy is growing like a weed. Here check up is on Fri. so maybe I will update then too. Let's see, oh yes the 4th. We took it easy. We had friends over on Fri, and then Sat is was just us. I LOVE IT WHEN IT IS JUST US!!! We drove all the way to SONIC (45min) for slushies on the 4th, and when we got there, the machine was broken. NOT COOL. We had a great bbq (always with Nick) and then went down to the water for fireworks.
St. Helens puts on a great show, and better yet, we are home in ten minutes. I have decided that is now called Independence Day, because all we saw were overweight, big chested women running around in tight tank tops with no bras. Yes, hows that for a visual. Gotta love warm summer days, and nights. Sorry guys, no pictures of that. Maybe next year. Okay, I think that about catches us up. Next stop.........photos
